Why does McCain hate palin?

Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign. McCain has become alarmed about the fury unleashed by Sarah Palin, the moose-hunting “pitbull in lipstick”, against Senator Barack Obama. Cries of “terrorist” and “kill him” have accompanied the tirades by the governor of Alaska against the Democratic nominee at Republican rallies.
...
McCain believes the attacks have spun out of control.... However, his campaign has stepped up its negative advertising against Obama.... “Some will say, jeez Sarah, it’s getting negative. No it’s not negativity. It’s truthfulness.” The crowd bellowed its appreciation with chants of “Nobama” and “Go Sarah Go!”
.....
Per Baxter, McCain’s starting to wonder what history will say about how gracefully and honorably (there’s that word!) he lost the election of 2008, while Palin’s starting to position herself as the candidate of 2012. Hey, maybe. There’s just a little too much "blame the scheming dame" aroma hovering over the narrative to make me completely comfortable with it - not because of towering gender sensitivity but because these lazy tropes often obscure more complicated realities...

a great question to ask....

but is it even relevant any more???

Should we just close down the empire and call it a day???? Say that we had a lot of fun, but it is time to just let things go what ever way they do when an empire implodes from within....
