WHAT!!! The DOW Crisis is not THE Crisis!!!

SHOCK! SHOCK! ANGST ANGST!!!! ENNOI! ENNOI!!!!
The flow of finance to expanding companies--or, rather, the not-flow of finance to companies that ought to be expanding employment--is the problem.
[ cf As Paul Krugman Says, the Stock Market Is Not the Big Problem ]
Ok, so that is fromm the halcyon days when the DOW was at 9,000 points, and folks were trying to solve which was the real crisis....

But, ah yes, I must confess that I am probably having a bit too much Schadenfreund, since, well....

The news is all about the DOW, as if this were the issue... While the NeoCons are still trying to blame Jimmy Carter, rather than address the break down in any form of regulatory oversight of loan origination, and any sort of vetting of the process....

But as we have watched, the real problem has been the complete moral collapse, that has become a part of the world since the Rise of the Reaganite, "everyone for themselves" model of our america....

Who knows, maybe now americans will want to spend a bit more time understanding the problems, and that there are no Majikal Planes that will start raining new bags of Pooh on them, that can then be inserted in creditized debt swap hedge fund contracts in lieu of the Old Bags of Pooh, no matter HOW MUCH folks dress up like the Correct Cargo Cult of the FreeMarketeers....

Hum.... what if the players here in america are really worse off than the brightly painted savages in the uplands of Papua...

Rage Rising on the McCain Front...

How Shocking!!!
With recent polls showing Sen. Barack Obama's lead increasing nationwide and in several GOP-leaning states, some Republicans attending McCain-Palin campaign rallies have taken on a new emotion: Rage.
...
"I'm mad. I'm really mad. And what's going to surprise you, it's not the economy. It's the socialists taking over our country," another man said.
...
Obama and Ayers, now a university professor, met in 1995, when both worked with a nonprofit group trying to raise funds for a school improvement project and a charitable foundation. CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything inappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.

Quoted in The New York Times, Obama called Ayers "somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8."

[ cf Rage rising on the McCain campaign trail ]
Well, there you have it!!!

Becaue Obama, as an 8 year old, did not denounce the Weather Underground, the stock market is falling.

Well that should clear it all up!!!

WOW!!!

Thank god no one is worrying about all of the draft dodgers like Rove, Rush, and the rest of the Tom DeLay crew, who were, well, gosh, also avoiding defending america back in the day... and have been a part of creating the current culture of wackiNeff...

What WILL become interesting is if the Roverian Draft Dodger Kultur will be able to get it's armed wing organized enough to live up to their rage cartoons about gutting and killing liberals....

Or is that also a problem spawned by the years of Radical Left Wing TreeHuggerInChief's Anti-American Anti-War policies....

When was the democratic process relevant???

Opponents of same-sex marriage called for continued steps for a constitutional ban on the practice. “It’s an outrage, but it’s not unexpected,” said Peter Wolfgang, the executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut. “We thought all along that the court would usurp the democratic process and force same-sex marriage on Connecticut.”

Your Moment Of Post SURREALISM...

William Ayers and voter fraud. Cindy McCain on the attack. Say it ain’t so, John.

The economy is in a tailspin, and so is John McCain. Our retirement plans and college savings accounts are shrinking, and McCain is shrinking right with them. He’s not just on the verge of getting clobbered in the election. He’s on the verge of becoming an object of utter ridicule. It isn’t pretty to watch. Even for a Democrat.

But is that bad???

The GODLESS EVIL MEDIA reports
Gov. Sarah Palin abused the powers of her office by pressuring subordinates to get her former brother-in-law, a state trooper, fired, a investigation by the Alaska Legislature has concluded.

A report on the bipartisan inquiry that was released Friday by lawmakers in Anchorage, concluded, however, that she was within her right to dismiss her public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, the trooper’s boss.

The public portion of the report concluded that Ms. Palin violated the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act by allowing pressure to be exerted to get Trooper Michael Wooten, her former brother-in-law, dismissed.

In the 263 pages that were released, the independent investigator, Stephen E. Branchflower, a former Anchorage prosecutor, said that Ms. Palin wrongfully allowed her husband, Todd, to use state resources as part of the effort to have Trooper Wooten dismissed.

[ cf Alaska Inquiry Concludes Palin Abused Powers ]
Ok, so is that as bad as living in a town where there are other people who were around in the sixties?????

Besides when a Leader, under the Unitarian Executive Principle does it, can it really be wrong????

and especially in a time of transferring the tax liabilities unto the unborn baby UBU as Jesus demands in the biblically literal bible????

Besides she can see Siberia, and it is not like she shipped any of them to Siberia!!!

Besides a Wife MUST be submissive to her husband, and therefore under the Unitarian Executive Principles, when she allows her husband to do it, can it be any different than when she does it, since clearly the electorate elected her, knowing that she was under the headship and submission of her husband....

Besides, if any real laws were broken then God would have killed the kitten, and Jesus loves kittens, therefore it is all ok....

Like passengers on the Titanic trying to get on the last lifeboat over the side, Republicans are beginning to ditch John McCain, with the Republican former governor of Michigan questioning the nasty tone of McCain's campaign and saying he is "…not the McCain I endorsed."

Former Governor William Milliken had previously endorsed McCain during the Republican primary season.

"He is not the McCain I endorsed," said Milliken, in an interview with The Grand Rapids Press. "He keeps saying, 'Who is Barack Obama?' I would ask the question, 'Who is John McCain?' because his campaign has become rather disappointing to me."

"I'm disappointed in the tenor and the personal attacks on the part of the McCain campaign, when he ought to be talking about the issues."
...
"I saw what Bush and Cheney did. They came in with a (budget) surplus and a stable world, and look what's happened now," said Chafee, who was ousted in 2006 by Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse. "In eight short years they've taken one peaceful and prosperous world, and they've torn it into tatters."

Added Chafee about Sarah Palin: "There's no question she's totally unqualified."

How SHOCKING that these sorts or Hard Left Communist Puppet Stooges of their Hanoi Masters would stoop so low as to attack Freedom, apple pie, and mother hood....

People who just HATE the Guacamole!!!

Some of this talk is in thinly-veiled code, via endless discussions on conservative web sites (though it spilled over into Congress during the bailout debate) attributing the subprime mortgage meltdown to the effects of the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977... aimed at fighting the common practice of mortgage "redlining" in low-income and/or minority areas.... [T]he CRA didn't require lending to unqualified applicants... CRA doesn't even apply to the non-bank lenders responsible for the vast majority of bad mortgages....

Do You Hate Freedom Enough???

Americans may like to make fun of girls who are good at math, but this attitude is robbing the country of some of its best talent, researchers reported on Friday.

They found that while girls can be just as talented as boys at mathematics, some are driven from the field because they are teased, ostracized or simply neglected.

"The U.S. culture that is discouraging girls is also discouraging boys," Janet Mertz, a University of Wisconsin-Madison professor who led the study said in a statement.

"The situation is becoming urgent. The data show that a majority of the top young mathematicians in this country were not born here."

Writing in the Notices of the American Mathematical Society, Mertz and colleagues described their analysis of data from international math competitions going back to 1974. They also looked at surveys of U.S. students.

"It is deemed uncool within the social context of USA middle and high schools to do mathematics for fun; doing so can lead to social ostracism. Consequently, gifted girls, even more so than boys, usually camouflage their mathematical talent to fit in well with their peers," they wrote.

[ cf Making math uncool is hurting America, report says ]
Hum....

Would this be a bad time to talk about the grand national comedy of watching the commericial paper freeze up, and we are left with little more than Godless Atheistical Red Hollywood Entertainement, and bond merchants, as the basis for our foreign exchange...

Or should we just embrace that Jesus gave us Nukes, and therefore we are always going to be able to get cash, because we have the Bomb.... Just like Jesus wanted us to have....

Or should we start looking for real solutions....
