DOW, Below 10K????

WHAT????

How can this be??? Isn't the most important piece of noise, as reported by the main stream media noise factory, the whole crisis of Obama Bin Biden having been known to black people in his youth.... or some such...

Maybe it is time for the president to order the bombers to start bombing the harbors of North Wall Street, and showing them that we are serious about total victory...

Hey Kids, is it really 1954 AGAIN?

Wow, scope this one:
The story goes that when he was running for re-election to the Senate in 1954, Lyndon Johnson was opposed by a couple of non-profits that urged voters to reject him and his radical communist ideas. (And you thought things were crazy today.) In response, Johnson had new language inserted into the section of the IRS code, which defines a tax exempt entity. His addendum declared that an exempt organization “does not participate in or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.”

Now, in the middle of the 2008 election, several dozen pastors are challenging the amendment by speaking out in the pulpit in favor of a candidate (usually John McCain) and by sending the IRS copies of the sermons in which they openly cross the line the law has drawn since 1954. At the same time, a bill (H.R. 2275) repealing the Johnson amendment has been introduced by Walter Jones, Republican of North Carolina. The bill has been referred to the House Ways and Means Committee where it awaits action.

The debate over Jones’s bill and Johnson’s amendment reveals once again how confusing and confused church-state jurisprudence is and has always been and will always be. Both sides claim that the other is violating the separation of church and state. Barry Lynn, a minister who is executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, argues that “We just can’t have sermons converted into political advertisements for candidates,” and he warns against using “church collection plate money on an ad telling people” to vote for one candidate rather than another.

Hey, would this be a bad time to mention that the 'under god' phrase was added to the national pledge of allegiance, or would that be considered in bad taste????

Or should we remind americans that in the 'vietnam era', the Pro-War churches were OPPOSED to the God Hating America Bashing churches that were failing to support LBJ's War, and then RMN's Vietnamization Process....

Would it add special sauce to the process if we mentioned the stuff about owing the ceasar....

Or should we just, uh, remember, that The Whole World Changed!!!
on 09/11
</blockquote> and therefore if anything is like anything from before that time, that it is all an illusion put forward by the evil liberal media....

Yeah, would we really want to talk about 'supporting the president to support the troops' arguments, and the devolutions from those expressions???? or should we just all smile...

Prosecutorial InDigestion, in a time of Tax Cuts?

Wow kids, remember way back when
While underground, he and fellow member Bernardine Dohrn married, and the two remained fugitives together, changing identities, jobs and locations. By 1976 or 1977, with federal charges against both fugitives dropped due to prosecutorial misconduct (see COINTELPRO), Ayers was ready to turn himself in to authorities, but Dohrn remained reluctant until after she gave birth to two sons, one born in 1977, the other in 1980. "He was sweet and patient, as he always is, to let me come to my senses on my own", she later said.[2] The couple turned themselves in to authorities in 1980. Ayers and Dohrn later became legal guardians to the son of former Weathermen David Gilbert and Kathy Boudin after the boy's parents were convicted and sent to prison for their part in the Brinks Robbery of 1981.[14]

What if americans wanted to really go back and win the holy crusade against the sort of Dirty Stinking Hippies who abandoned our Holy Warriors like Tom DeLay, The Gnewtster, and Rush....

I mean, everyone knows that McCain hung out in an organization with the noted draft dodgers John Kerry, Al Gore, and their Ilk, but do we hear about that part of being More Pro-War and Pro-vet enough....

Ah yes, the family values part of the discussion... yeah, that's the ticket...

Should Americans Understand the difference between GDI and GDP???

Or should they be allowed to fully support Faith Based Economics, and the moral superiority of Blind Faith in the greatness of Great leader, because great leader is great.

For the god hating america bashers who may understand how to cook GDP, as opposed to remembering to cook the GDI in the process, check out GDP and GDI.

The rest can remember that Number theory is just a theory....

What if the Keating 5 WAS a banking Thingie Pooh?

So trying not to give the Obama campaign free publicity by linking to their documentary about Charles Keating, but GBAs are the news of the day, and you can't ignore it. So -- here it is, just posted online.

One tangential thought: the Keating Five was a banking and financial scandal. So it fits better with the political environment than sudden attempts to re-raise Obama's associations with Ayers and Wright.

[ cf Keating Five Was A Banking Scandal ]
Hum....

Why would anyone in the current MILITARY CRUSADE against the GODLESS HEATHEN LIBERALS of wall street, be in any way concerned with what was clearly merely a criminal matter that had not once been put forward to the Canon Courts to address any pertinent or relevant Theological Issues about why Jesus loved us so much that he gave us Nuclear Weapons.

Clearly raising the issue of whom Keating was a friend of is, uh, one of those things that is not a way to mention that some people have friends, and others do not.

Who knows.... Some day the folks who have spent too many years feeling guilty about what they did or did not do during the Vietnam Era will get a way to deal with it. Who knows, they may even be able to deal with the idea that maybe the abuses of the eighties and nineties by those seeking to wrap themselves in the flag and being more anti-anti-war than the next, were, well, not actually the same as the folks who might be willing to get up off their face and follow their rhetoric into action....

Maybe that IS a part of the core problem we keep trying to avoid in these efforts to try to more win the sixties, than ever before...

What if finally americans had to give up winning wars shrouded in history.... when there are real issues in the modern era that need to be addressed.

What happened to the fiscal responsible bit???

But she does owe substantial back taxes.

Sarah Palin Supports Gay Marriages???

No WONDER the economy is collapsing
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin told debate moderator Gwen Ifill that she would not support expanding the same-sex domestic partner benefits offered in Alaska to other states in the U-S if such benefits would redefine the traditional definition of marriage. "I also want to clarify if there's any kind of suggestion at all from my answer that I would be anything but tolerant of adults in America choosing their partners, choosing relationships that they deem best for themselves," the GOP VP nominee reassured. "You know, I am tolerant and I have a very diverse family and group of friends, and even within that group you would see some who may not agree with me on this issue."

Governor Palin said no one in a McCain-Palin administration would ever propose to do anything to prevent homosexual couples from having hospital visitation rights and signing joint legal contracts.

Did the lip stick finally explain her interesting life style choices????

Because they respect the vets....

In an opinion piece published yesterday in the Montana Standard, the state's GOP lieutenant governor, John Bohlinger, noted that one voter who's being challenged is Frank St. Pierre, an 86-year old ten-time Medal of Honor winner who helped save thousands of allied troops in Dunkirk during the Second World War, and happened to move across town recently. Bohlinger called the effort to challenge St. Pierre "an utter disgrace."
[ cf Montana GOP Targets WWII Hero in Voter Challenge ]
No seriously, when did the so called GOP types give one large egyptian rat screw about the veteran's community! Especially when there might be a conflict with the domestic political agenda...

I agree that 'ten-time medal of honor winner' sounds slippery, but the cited article gets closer to the bone:
Not only was the effort blatantly deceptive, but the Republicans based their challenge on a national change-of-address database from an out-of-state vendor who sells personal information. Among other problems, this database lists servicemen and women who have been deployed overseas as having moved out of Montana. In other words, if you go to Iraq, or Afghanistan, or Fort Sill, Okla., to report for active duty, you have "moved out of the state" according to this list.

A significant number of the 6,000 voters targeted were servicemen, including Kevin Furey, a former state legislator from Missoula who left the legislature to serve in Iraq; Cindie Kalan-Green, who is also serving in Iraq; and Mathew Robison, who I am told has been deployed to Fort Drum.
...
I am a Republican, and I will continue to be a Republican. But I am appalled at the leadership of my political party. I urge party elders to take action and promptly withdraw this outrageous effort to challenge the eligibility of legitimate voters, and to call for the removal any Republican Party employees responsible for this. This kind of activity has no place in a democracy. Finally, I would urge the voters of Montana whose registrations have been improperly challenged not to be discouraged by this unfortunate effort.

— John Bohlinger is Montana's lieutenant governor. He may be reached via e-mail at jbohlinger@mt.gov.
[ cf Republicans crossed line with voter purge attempt ]
Hum... what if there are Republicans, who are not a part of the Karl Rove Draft Dodger Kulture???

Oh yes, it is this John Bohlinger who says the guy is a ten time medal of honor winner... so maybe that is why he is only a Lieutenant Governor, rather than a party big-wig???

I have not found anything on the St. Pierre Guy.

But the gambitting about going after folks on active duty, that sooooo does not surprise me. Too many civilians do not understand the notion of 'home of records'. Ah yes... who knows, some day these so called GOP operatives will be as committed to following their rhetoric into action...

But the betting money is that they will not...

We have more than seven years of history to work with here...

AngolaGate?????

Don't YOU just hate those evil European types with their god hating america bashing???
A president's son, a thriller writer and a former interior minister were among members of the French elite who went on trial Monday for illegal arms sales to Africa in a high-profile case dubbed "Angolagate."

But a lawyer representing the Luanda government said he would ask the court to throw out the case by invoking French confidentiality laws protecting military secrets of foreign countries.

Angola is opposed to "public discussion of information in a foreign court" that concerns its state interests and national security, said lawyer Francis Teitgen.

Dubbed "Angolagate," the trial on the arms-to-Angola scandal could shine a spotlight on alleged high-level French involvement in weapons deliveries, in violation of a UN arms embargo.

The trial centres on 790 million dollars worth of arms bought in eastern Europe from 1993 to 1998, at the height of the war pitting Luanda against Jonas Savimbi's UNITA rebels.

Proof That Financial Crisis Caused By Adam And Steve!!!

A 45-year-old Los Angeles man who was apparently distraught over money troubles shot and killed his wife, three sons and mother-in-law before taking his own life, police said on Monday.

The father of three, who was not immediately identified by authorities, was believed to have shot five members of his family and then himself sometime after 6 p.m. on Saturday, a Los Angeles police spokesman said.

It's "a very tragic scene, total devastation inside this home," Deputy Chief Michael Moore told reporters at a news conference. "Inside the home, officers discovered six bodies, all belonging to the family that lived at this location."

Moore added, "We believe this to be a murder-suicide."
