Got Cold War Messaging???

Hum, totally accidentally, and for no apparent reason, some collection of players accidentally collect nuclear tipped ALCM's out of the weapons depot, and they get accidentally hung on the Spars of a B-52, where they get accidentally overlooked by the Flight Commander, and all of the rest of the folks who are suppose to do the walk around the plane as a part of the pre-flight.

Now just pause and add into the mix, that the weapons deployment pattern would mean being able to launch from deep inside of the Red States of JesusLand against the Blue States of Godless Heathen Land.

Then remember this bit:
An Air Force chaplain who complained that evangelical Christians were trying to "subvert the system" by winning converts among cadets at the Air Force Academy was removed from administrative duties last week, just as the Pentagon began an in-depth study of alleged religious intolerance among cadets and commanders at the school.

"They fired me," said Capt. MeLinda Morton, a Lutheran minister who was removed as executive officer of the chaplain unit on May 4. "They said I should be angry about these outside groups who reported on the strident evangelicalism at the academy. The problem is, I agreed with those reports."

Can you say, "HUM...."

Or how about
Charles E. Flowers, Senior Pastor at Faith Outreach Center, International, and "Commandant" of Love Demonstrated Ministries' Christian Boot Camp, stands charged with aggravated assault after allegedly dragging a girl behind a van. Her crime? She couldn't keep up with her fellow "trainees" during a run at the boot camp for wayward youths Flowers runs with his wife.
...
Charles Flowers started the Christian Boot Camp four years ago to show at-risk teen-age boys that "God has led them to be mighty people on Earth.left the United States Air Force after 12 years to start the program at Faith Outreach Center, a nondenominational church where he is an associate pastor.

The Air Force - its academy in particular - has recently been accused of being a hot-bed of reckless, even ruthless, Christian evangelism. A lawsuit was brought against the Academy for Constitutional violations, but dismissed by the Judge for technical and substantive grounds. That said, many questions remain.

Koinkidenk or Konspirakii?

How about this fun part:
A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the Air Force that claimed the branch's top training academy violated the Constitution by promoting evangelical Christian beliefs among cadets.

On Oct. 27, U.S. District Judge James Parker of New Mexico dismissed the lawsuit, which a group of graduates had brought against the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Parker dismissed the case on technical and substantive grounds, saying the plaintiffs had no standing to file the lawsuit and they did not present sufficient evidence that the cadets' rights were violated.
Mikey Weinstein, one of the graduates who filed the suit in an Albuquerque federal court, issued a statement vowing to appeal the decision. "While we respect Judge Parker's ruling, we are deeply disappointed that our efforts have been delayed to protect the rights of the brave and honorable men and women serving in our nation’s armed forces," Weinstein said.

Weinstein was among the most outspoken of a group of Air Force Academy alumni, employees and parents who in 2005 began publicly critiquing the religious environment at the school. The critics -- and a report by the Washington-based Americans United for Separation of Church and State -- said evangelical Christians were exerting undue influence over the lives of cadets at the government-run school.

Why do They, of TheyThemThose, Hate Freedom?

U.S. District Court Judge Victor Marrero on Thursday handed down a ruling stating that the gag power within the National Security Letter provisions of the amended Patriot Act is unconstitutional. The case, known as "Doe v. Gonzales," began in 2004. The ACLU filed the case on behalf of an anonymous Internet service provider that received a National Security Letter seeking information about customers.
