What if they had been republicans?

One of the core ongoing problems I keep having with folks who want to excuse the behavior of Dick Cheney and George W. Bush based upon trying to appeal to something that the democrats did or were alledged to have done, remains that simple straight up problem
But What IF they were Republicans?
wouldn't we want to compare them with say Republicans? or Republican Moral Values? Or Republican Ethical Standards? HUM????

Is that really asking that much? Or are we suppose to be offering quarters in this Kulltur Kampf and admit that they are not really Republicans - that they should not be used as an illustrative standard of Republican Standards - and that they really are Clintonites in Drag and should be held to no higher standard. Since to do that would put their frail male ego's at risk.... That at best they should be held up to the "Special Olympic Ethics Standards" where everyone is a winner simply by being, not by what they actually do.

Will the Current Operable Excuse Please Stand Up?

Let's see, there was Brownie, and he was the excuse why FEMA blew Wheenies. Now the Head of the Kommisariate of State Security is hopping on the Holy Handgrenade of why, this many years into the 'war on what ever', and with all of the congressional support to do what ever the Great Leader Feels Must be done - we still do not have anyone in place who can cope with 'national disasters' - whether caused by Natural Oppsies, or gosh, what IF terrorists had implemented that Dirty Nuclear Bomb In The Tennis Shoe....

Dick Supports Burning CIA for Domestic Political Consumption

"If it turns out that Cheney was actively involved in decisions related to the disclosure of a CIA officer's identity and if the truth of it is that he was orchestrating the disclosure of information to the media, it seems to me that's a fundamentally different case than one centered around the activities of Libby," said Ray.

On Oct. 28 of last year, Libby was indicted on five counts of perjury, obstruction and lying to the FBI about how he learned of the identity of undercover CIA officer Valerie Plame and what he told reporters about it.
An authorization defense in the CIA leak case would mean that "much of what Libby was trying to do was aid and protect his boss Cheney," Ray suggested. The downside to employing such an approach is that it "almost comes with a defense that I did it."

A tip of the hat to tongodeon for his ongoing willingnes to be Evil And Support Terrorists, with his threads where he all but admits that he remains unconvinced that Congress has offered majikal powers to burn Ongoing Intelligence Operations for strictly domestic concerns.

Yes Boys and Girls - some of us are proud of our service to country. And we remain unimpressed with those who hate the American Intelligence Community, and want to put our people at risk, simply because, well, 'those democrats are liberal, and ted kennedy drinks, and commie girls are better in bed.... and we wanted to win in vietnam, but we had to stay CONUS stopping liberals from being liberal'.

Come On Folks let us grow some stones and work out which SIDE DO we want to be on?

And the President's Actual Position Is What Again?

Ok, so the allegation is being spread in the evil liberal media that the President Thinks that the VP has handled the current shooting crisis, just fine. Is this what the president actually means? Or is there some other special moment here? I mean, there is that ongoing problem that the Prez has been especially obliged to duck away from his previous position about firing anyone involved in the Plame Crisises - and now Scotter Libbey is getting support from Dick that it is ok to burn Assets, and the President has decided that this is one of those things, that well, they just need to not comment on, because of the ongoing technical stuff about stuff.

Still More of those dumb questions...

So why exactly wasn't the VP willing to use his Black Hawk medivac flight to help his home boy out?

Just one of that bunch of questions that clearly the evil liberal media, and the rest of their NeoConFriends are apparently unable, or unwilling to wonder aloud.

Could a part of the failure of judgement here be, well, gosh, that sometimes there are other priorities....

But we can all feel gooder that the VP came out of this with a clean bill.

Does The Prez Really Believe?

I mean this is a bit scary:
Finally, Hume suggested that since this was obviously a national story, Cheney should have informed the national press and gotten the word out sooner. Cheney's reply: "It isn't easy to do that. Are they going to take my word for what happened?"
Seriously? Cheney's story is that his own credibility is so poor that a statement from him would have been worthless? Is he really going to stick to that as his explanation?
So Does the Prez Really Beleive Dick?

I mean the growing comedy of the Dick Decided to Declassify Information with the intention of destroying an ongoing intelligence operation, and we're suppose to majikally adopt the idea that we BELIEVE Him on that, because, well, the alternative is that Libby is Lying Way Wacko Like, and Dick just made up the Declassification Story.... Because that way the President's Original Posture in the Plame That anyone who was involved was out of his administration....

So What Exactly DOES the prez believe?

And does he support the Troops?

Things that bite

Have I ever mentioned how there are folks who are sold on buzz phrases, like XML, and never have to think about the relationship between creating a 'language' as a way of pre-defining how the underlying code like stuff would want to be able to do stuff....

I mean simply saying, "we make pretty new elements, with some attributes and stuff..." doth not reasoning really worketh.

I mean that may fly in NeoCon Land where all things can be resolved by asserting "But Congress Authorized...."

Which would work so much nicer, if my compiler would accept that as an excuse.... I mean...
