Hum... this tasty nugget
"I’d like to close Guantanamo," Mr Bush said. "But I also recognise that we’re holding some people that are darned dangerous, and that we’d better have a plan to deal with them in our courts.Gosh, Golly, Gee Whiz!!!
"No question, Guantanamo sends, you know, a signal to some of our friends - provides an excuse, for example, to say, ’The United States is not upholding the values that they’re trying (to) encourage other countries to adhere to.’
"My answer to them is, is that we are a nation of laws. Eventually, these people will have trials and they will have counsel and they will be represented in a court of law."

Those Damn Court Thingies, they just did not have a plan as to how we were going to deal with the sudden kidnapping of all of these people whom we keep trying to figure out which ones of them are the real Damn Dangerous Ones, while gosh, those not so dangerous ones keep on doing all of those dangerous things out There.
Or could it be that there is also that problem with say the signing statements that assert that the president retains the right to torture and kidnap anyone he wants, and to detain them for as long as the president deems them to be detainable. Or gosh, just the flat out statements. And then there is this Funky Monkey
Journalists have been ordered to leave Guantánamo Bay and local military authorities have had their permission to invite reporters to the base overruled following last week's suicides at the US detention camp.Yeah, that IS the ticket.
Reporters from the Miami Herald and Los Angeles Times are being flown home this afternoon having arrived at the base last Saturday, just hours after two Saudis and one Yemeni detainee committed suicide in their rooms with improvised nooses.
The removal of access comes amid unprecedented criticism of the camp and follows yesterday's publication of one of the most frank media reports yet to have emerged from the tightly controlled base.

Why if only those Damn Liberal Media Journalists would allow us to Erect Holy Alters to The Holy Words, rather than whining about that Constitution Thing, then Gosh, there would be more good news!!! Clearly the fact that we have been able to get at least, what, maybe 10 indictments against the remaining 460 hostages in GitMo, in what, some four plus years now, is such gooder News!!! But does the Liberal Media EVER step up to the plate and note that finally after this indefinite detention, with no right of appeal, or any of that, and the unilateral decision by The Guy, who was not in the Combat In Afghanistan when they were kidnapped, that they are Illegal Combatants, under the classic rubric
Well if they had been lawful combatants we would not have accidentally kidnapped themwhich of course has always been the very BASTION of american jurisprudence, since, well, gosh, at least the day that the whole world changed....
But do the EVIL LIBERAL MEDIA TYPES ever report these forms of progress, that is clearly so progressive!!! Why the Greatest Military Leader, EVER!!!! has the right, and has actually allowed some folks to be returned to some of the places where they might be better rendered!!! Showing that Maximal Leader!!! Defender Of The Faith!!! The Great Decider!!! Has the true insight of God!!!
Why can't folks look on the bright side of life???
Some day the President will do something!!!
