The former deals with the problem of returning to the roots of the anti-choice movement, when the EVIL SUPREME COURT Radical judicial activists allowed married folk to use contraceptives. The latter is a part of pandering Hedge's new book Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle - which I may have to read at some point.
What worries me as I look back is the sad tragedy that the anti-choice movement may be one of the manifestation of the end of literacy and the triumph of spectacle.
So should americans step off into that scary space and wonder if recovering literacy is a pre-requisite to being an american citizen? What if americans were required to be able to speak fluently to the issues of the day? Free from the mind numbing mere ideological bashing, or in your case, the use of a totally inappropriate scripting language as a geek metaphour!
