There was a time when the advocacy of overthrowing a seated government was consider UnAmerican.

makes me wonder who's side these folks are really on.

could that be why they are still having a problem working out what it means to have an HONOR worth swearing to uphold unto death....

You're right. All US citizens must be hanged, in alphabetical order.

Or maybe, comrade Zwolinski, we should go in reverse alphabetical order. I am open to bribes.

What if "honor" is, fundamentally, a useless concept by itself. What if solidarity is the concept that actually turns out to be the useful one? Hmmm? What then?

ugly question

Amongst the questions on the table with 'honor' is the notion that there may be somethings that we would not want to lose in the next generation, and thus that there needs to be some form of continutity between the past and the future that SHOULD come through the present, rather than imposing a need for archeological work.

In that framework, your idea of solidarity IS embracing! Since one is looking at the 'keeping faith with' construct, and hopefully over a wider arc than the duration of the current blipVert....

But still, in the old days, the idea of unseating a democratically elected president by a coup was considered at best gauche.
